Carthaan is a Terran Federation colony is the Roma Cluster.
The planet was the sight of a battle between the colonial forces and the Dref. Terran Federation general Percy Thomson helped to rally the Security Force until reinforcements arrived. Afterward, a statue was erected in his honor. Like other Roma Cluster colonies, Carthaan celebrated Armistice Day.
